Huawei has just unveiled two of its most luxurious smartwatches in Indonesia, the Huawei Watches Ultimate and the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design, both featuring 18-karat gold plating.
Cutting-Edge Material
Huawei Device Indonesia’s Training Director, Edy Supartono, proudly proclaimed that the Huawei Watch Ultimate is the first smartwatch crafted from zirconium material. Edy explained that zirconium is an extremely hard material that only melts at temperatures exceeding 10,000 degrees Celsius.
“This is the first time a watch has been made with a liquid metal material based on zirconium, one of the strongest anti-corrosion materials used in heavy industries like aerospace or mining,” said Edy during the launch of the Huawei Watch GT 4 and Watch Ultimate in Jakarta.
Premium Design and Features
The Huawei Watch Ultimate boasts a 1.5-inch display using an AMOLED LTPO panel. The screen is protected by sapphire crystal glass, features a ceramic bezel, and has titanium buttons for added durability.
In addition to its premium design, the standout feature of the Huawei Watch Ultimate is its 10 ATM water resistance rating, complying with ISO22810 and EN13319 standards. This means that the smartwatch can withstand depths of up to 100 meters when in Scuba Diving mode. Huawei has equipped this smartwatch with decompression algorithms from Bühlmann.
While diving, the Huawei Watch Ultimate provides real-time data such as diving depth, temperature, compass, and more. It also supports an automatic hovering mode.
For adventurers, the Huawei Watch Ultimate offers an Expedition mode, utilizing five main navigation systems (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, and QZSS) and a five-system GNSS. Users can mark their locations and utilize route back navigation to prevent getting lost.
The smartwatch is powered by a 530 mAh battery, claimed to last up to 14 days with normal usage and eight days with heavy usage.
Ultimate Luxury: Huawei Watch Ultimate Design
Huawei has also launched the Watch Ultimate Design, targeting the luxury market. This smartwatch is adorned with 18-karat gold details found on the watch face, strap, and crown.
“The Huawei Watch Ultimate Edition is coated with PVD gold coating, which is slightly different from regular gold plating. PVD gold coating is more resistant to wear and tear,” explained Edy.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate can be pre-ordered from October 5 to October 27, 2023, through Huawei’s official store on Tokopedia and Huawei Authorized Experience Stores across Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design is a limited-edition product available at specific Huawei Authorized Experience Stores, Erafone, and Tokopedia.
